Odor Removal

Duracide Counteractant

Unique to Durachem, our proprietary formulated counteratcant effectively absorbs and neutralize even the most offensive odors. Utilizing the Zwaademaker pairing methodology, Duracide is far superior and a safer alternative to traditional enzyme or oxidizer treatments.  Duracide is formulated with an encapsulate surfactant binder, this allows Duracide to work in a residual state once the product has completely dried. This safe and natural water based product can be applied to virtually any surface or textile through a mist, fog, or electrostatic spray application and followup service is rarely warranted.

Hydroxyl Production

Mother Nature uses hydroxyl molecules to cleanse and decontaminate our outdoor environment. However, hydroxyls do not occur indoors, so Durachem uses a system that mimics Mother Nature by safely generating molecules that naturally “seek and destroy” odor molecules, bacteria, viruses, VOCs, and other chemicals. Hydroxyls actually neutralize odor molecules and gasses by breaking down their chemical bonds. This can be done with even some of the most difficult molecules, such as hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and ammonia (NH3).

Hydroxyls (HO*) are naturally occurring molecules. They are created in our atmosphere when the sun’s ultraviolet rays react with water vapor in the air. Hydroxyls are an important agent that scrub and cleanse our planet’s environment.

At Durachem we utilize patented technologies that harness multiple UV light wavelength ranges. These wavelengths combined with ambient air humidity create hydroxyls. Our hydroxyl generator is a revolutionary device that generates “superior hydroxyls” that eliminate bacteria, mildew, mold, noxious gases, odors and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in indoor environments. Best of all, it's approved by the EPA for use in occupied buildings.

Ozone Treatments

Ozone, or O3, is a molecule made from three oxygen atoms. The three oxygen atoms form an unstable toxic gas that is highly reactive with other gases in the air. Ground level ozone is a major component of smog. Ozone found high up in the atmosphere, called stratospheric ozone, protects us by shielding us from harmful ultraviolet (UV) light. This “high in the sky” ozone and its beneficial effects should not be confused with the harmful “low to the ground” ozone, or smog.

When preformed by trained and certified professionals, ozone shock treatments are safe and effective.  While not approved for use in occupied structures, a quick 3-4 hour shock treatment is the fastest and most efficient way to permanently remove odors from second hand smoke, cooking odors, fire damage, musty smells, pet odors, even skunk.
